Here are a couple of close up pics so you can see a few of the details in each design: the coins in "Toadally Arrrgh!" are outlined in Kreinik gold braid, and in "Toadally Patriotic", the toad's mustache, beard, and eyebrows are stitched with fluffy white Rainbow Gallery "Wisper"!
More "Toadally Toads" designs are scheduled for release in 2012, so stay tuned for more! Where Did I
Find Those Star-Shaped Metal Floss Rings? Just Added to Stitchy Kitty Gallery!
Here is "Willy" stitched by Wilma B.! Wilma stitched him on a
beautiful 28ct Sassy fabric that really makes "Willy" stand out nicely! She
stitched all of him with DMC, except for his scarf which she stitched in a
Sulky fiber. Beautiful finish!
The Celebration of Needlework Show in NH Was Wonderful! I was also very pleased to see how busy the shopping area was for pretty much the entire weekend - there was plenty of stash-shopping going on! I'd like to thank Mary, Micky, Sharon, Jackie, and the rest of the wonderful ladies with whom I had the opportunity to enjoy dinner with a couple of nights at the show. They were a pleasure to hang out with and really made my time at Celebrations even more enjoyable. Many thanks to Mary for always seeking me out and inviting me to join her and her group! Click here to see pictures I took at the show, including pics of my models on display and many of the vendor booths! Here's a link for more information about the Celebration of Needlework show, which is held every year in New Hampshire during the last week of April: http://www.celebrationofnw.com I'd also like to mention a very special "Thank You!" to Erica, Marlo, and Geneva at Yankee Cross Stitch for allowing me to set up my trunk show in their booth at the Celebration of Needlework show each year! They have graciously hosted me for many years now and it is always a pleasure and a lot of fun to hang out with them in their booth! Stitch shop in beautiful Nashua! http://www.yankeecrossstitch.com

Stitchy Kitty
Design in Jan/Feb 2011 Issue of The Gift of Stitching Magazine
I created this design as a unique way for a stitcher to give several skeins of their favorite fibers to a stitchy friend! Just stitch and finish the floss tag, then attach the fibers you want to give to the thread ring - the fibers represent the bird's tail! Not only will your friend receive some really fun fibers, but also a stitched floss tag (stitched by you!) that they can keep and treasure long after the fibers have been used! You can even change the colors of the design to match the colors of the fibers you want to give, as I've done here. I've finished the design as a flat floss tag, but it could also be finished as a small stuffed ornament. My design is only one of many wonderful designs included in the February issue, you can see pics of all the designs by visiting the Gift of Stitching website here.
How can you get this, and all the other beautiful designs in this issue? By subscribing to The Gift of Stitching magazine! Subscription information can be found here. You can also purchase individual issues as they become available, usually a few months after release.
The designs included in this chart were designed by Imaginating, Praiseworthy Stitches, Myrtle Grace Motifs, Shakepeare's Peddler, Stitchy Kitty (the middle design of a snowman in a blue heart), Historic Stitches, Blackbird Designs, The Stitching Parlor, Poppy Kreations, and Midsummer Night Designs.
If you would like to purchase this chart, or any of the other charts in
the series, please ask for it at your favorite needlework shop!
If you'd like to submit a picture of your finished Stitchy Kitty project(s) for the Gallery, just send me an email with your picture as an attachment to meow@stitchykitty.com . Put the words "Stitchy Kitty Gallery" in the Subject line and please send pics in either JPEG or GIF format and preferably sized at about 500 pixels. Be sure to let me know how you'd like to be identified with your picture, either with your name and location (Michelle from Maine) or with your online nickname (SuzieQStitcher). I'd especially love to see pics where you've finished a Stitchy Kitty design in a way that's different than how I finished the model, such as a flat fold, cube, ornament, anything goes! |
